I had a chest cold prior to kicking off my Whole30, and while I thought I was getting better things seem to have nose-dived. While I don't take antibiotics or really any OTC cold medicine, when the tickle in my throat sends me crazy at night it would be lovely to such on an herbal lozenge. NONE of them, even those sold at Target, are free of additional sweetener.
Happily I got some "throat coat" herbal tea today that helped a bit *and* tastes quite nice with nothing added to it. It's hard to gauge how I feel overall since the cold is running me down, but I do have to say my digestion is great so all is good.

breakfast - leftover turkey & sweet potato casserole
lunch - Trader Joe's chimicurri wild pacific salmon (GREAT find in the frozen section!) in a salad with romaine, tomatoes, avocado and carrots dressed with lemon and olive oil
snack - everyday paleo mini apple muffin with dab of almond butter
dinner - creamy mushroom stew with Whole Foods artichoke olive chicken sausage
For dinner I went with Paleo Diet Lifestyle's Creamy Mushroom Stew, which I bookmarked some time ago. I made it with ghee, beef stock and coconut milk, though when not on the Whole30 I think I might try making it with wine to add a depth of flavor. While the stew was quite hearty on its own, the grilled sausage alongside really worked well.
This was delicious, and will definitely be a repeat (particularly in the cooler winter months). If you are a fan of mushrooms and looking for a comforting and filling meal, this is a nice easy option. The caveman, who is NOT doing the Whole30 with me (in fact, he had a cheese panini while we shopped at Whole Foods... sigh) has asked that this stew make a reappearance down the line.
