I made this smoothie for my kids today after a chilly morning soccer game. Since I have a Vitamix I was able to toss in the pears with their skin, and blend the whole mess long enough that the end resulting was a comforting WARM smoothie.
I don't tend to eat a ton of fruit these days, not so much because of being strict Paleo but because I'm realize sugar in general is not so good for my auto-immune issues. Still, this is something I would consider a healthy treat (and I did have the little bit left over that my kids didn't slurp down!)
Cinnamon Pear Smoothie
2 medium pears, peeled and cored
1/2-1 cup of dairy-free milk of choice (I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
1 tsp. cinnamon
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Top with a little dust of cinnamon if you're feeling fancy!
